I’m based in Anson County, North Carolina though I typically just refer to my geographical location as “Charlotte-ish”. I’ve always been drawn to the kind of photographs that feel like something — not just the ones where everyone is looking at the camera. The tiny hand wrapped around yours. The way your baby fits against your chest. Bare feet in the hallway, toys on the floor, morning light coming through the windows. The ordinary pieces of a life that somehow become the things we miss the most. That’s where my work is headed now. I photograph newborns, babies and families primarily in their own homes, where everyone can settle in and simply be themselves. My approach is relaxed and honest, with enough direction that you never have to wonder what to do, but enough room for the real moments to unfold. Because time does change everything. Babies grow, homes change, seasons pass—and photographs give us a way to hold onto a little bit of what it all felt like. Outside of photography, I’m a wife and a mama, a lover of slow mornings and really good coffee, traveling whenever I get the chance, getting lost in a book, and finding beauty in the everyday.
